phones. Most of the phones are not digital, so the communication is
in the clear and you can easily monitor the phone calls. Although
on the more EXPENSIVE models they are digital and conversations can
not be comprehened when monitoring. The distance of the 900MHz
cordless phones are said to be double of the old 46Mhz cordless phones.
The range of 46MHz cordless phones is about 2 blocks with standard
radio telescopic whip antenna. The range of 900MHz is claimed to be
double that of a 46Mhz cordless phone, so about 1/2 a mile (4 blocks).
You may find that there is not much activity in your area, this is
due to that 900MHz cordless phones are still pretty new on the market,
more costly than 46MHz cordless phones, have not caught on yet, and
many people already have the older 46MHz phones and don't need another.
